Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Year 2 (Full-Time, Fixed-Term)

Location: South Sheffield Primary School

Are you passionate about education and dedicated to making a positive impact on young learners? We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a small primary school located in the south of Sheffield.

Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant working with a Year 2 class, your primary focus will be on supporting small groups of children who are tracking behind in Phonics. You will be responsible for delivering targeted interventions, specifically utilising the Read Write Inc phonics program. Your role will be crucial in helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential in literacy.

Key Duties:

  • Conducting Read Write Inc phonics interventions with small groups of Year 2 students.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support as needed to address individual learning needs.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress to inform ongoing interventions.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification at Level 2 or above.
  • Experience working with primary school students, particularly in Phonics interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
