About the role
This OFSTED 'Good' Stockport primary school are seeking a Year 1 teacher with the energy and charisma to take on a Year 1 class in what will be a new role in the school. Due to a large in-take 2 years ago, the head teacher has decided to split next year's cohort of Year 1 children and create 2 Year 1 classes of 20 children. The school are looking for someone who can deliver lessons across the National Curriculum and has excellent behaviour management and sound subject knowledge. You must be a committed practitioner, who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout the role. As a year 1 teacher in this school, you will need to be a collaborative and driven individual who will support and lead on the delivery of subjects through inventive approaches including curriculum design and the use of ICT.
This 1.5 entry Stockport primary school is a fantastic primary school and is driven by a wonderful head teacher who is fully immersed into every aspect of the school. As this school serves a diverse range of children from different cultural and social backgrounds, the driving force in school is to ensure every child has full access to the learning. The school encourages every child to develop socially, emotionally, academically and physically to achieve his/her full potential in every aspect of their school life. This school sits perfectly in the middle of a large residential area. This school would be perfect for someone who relies on public transport as it is commutable by bus from many areas of Stockport and Manchester. The school also benefits from a large playing field and large wooded area which means all children have access to the forest school's curriculum.
The head teacher's is extremely passionate about this school. This is the type of head teacher you will see up and down the corridors every day. They are the first person in school in the morning and the last one to leave. You will also often see them helping out in a classroom as a Teaching Assistant. This had teacher has been head at the school for over 10 years and is extremely passionate about every aspect. This head teacher will offer tremendous support to new members of staff but they will also demand hard work, determination and the passion to see all your students excel.
Your key responsibilities
*Teaching a Year 1 class
*Teaching all core and foundation primary subjects.
*Ensuring that all children make the minimum expected progress throughout the year
*Creatively linking subjects together to plan thematically
*Planning for, directing and working with a teaching assistant

To be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;
*Hold a relevant teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE, B.Ed or a BA Hons.
*Have at least 1 Years full time experience in either Reception, Year 1 or Year 2
*Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
*Have at least 6 months school-based experience of working in a UK primary school setting.
*Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.
*Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
