SEN School in Redbridge is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Mentor / Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. We are a specialist provision working with children and young people who experience social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, providing tailored support to help them thrive in education and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional wellbeing and behaviour.

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups, delivering structured interventions.

  • Support students in accessing learning and reintegration into mainstream or specialist settings.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff, external agencies, and families to provide holistic support.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEMH or PRU setting.

  • Demonstrates resilience, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Can remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging behaviour.

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
