Position: English Teacher - Secondary
Location: Medway, Kent
Type: Temporary, Full-time

The Role:

As an English Teacher in Medway, you'll be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils, and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You'll foster a love for literature and language, develop students' analytical and creative writing skills, and support their academic progress through innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge students.

  • Differentiate content to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

  • Monitor student progress, set achievable targets, and provide constructive feedback.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and collaborative planning.

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

  • Engage with parents and carers to support student outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level.

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, reflective, and resilient approach to teaching.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
