Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Merton, South West London
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP / September 2025

We are currently seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join one of our fantastic partner schools in Merton. This is a brilliant opportunity to take on a more active role in the classroom, working closely with teachers to deliver lessons, support learners, and occasionally cover classes.

This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and ready to step up into a position of greater responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering lessons to small groups or whole classes in the absence of the teacher

  • Supporting pupils across various year groups, including those with additional needs

  • Assisting with planning, preparation, and assessment under teacher guidance

  • Providing targeted interventions and leading booster sessions

  • Supporting the creation of a positive and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience working in a UK school setting

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
