Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: £150 - £265 per day (PAYE)
QTS or QTLS Required.
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Brent, North West London, which is seeking a dedicated and resilient Art Teacher to join its team from September 2025.
The Role
As an Art Teacher in this specialist setting, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a creative and therapeutic Art curriculum to pupils aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work with small groups of pupils, using Art to promote engagement, expression and confidence.
You will work closely with a committed team of teachers, support staff and pastoral leads to create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS - essential
Experience teaching in an alternative provision or with pupils with SEMH needs - desirable
Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills
A calm, empathetic and adaptable teaching style
A genuine passion for using Art as a vehicle for pupil engagement and emotional support
