The school is an all-through 4-19 academy with 1,650 pupils, located in L18 rated Outstanding by Ofsted (2019).
About the Role:
Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of an L18 school for a dynamic, dedicated Teacher of Classics to join asuccessful secondary team. You will deliver engaging and effective lessons in Latin and Classical Civilisation, supporting students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Main Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching tailored to individual pupil needs
Evaluate teaching strategies and adapt to maximise student engagement and achievement
Maintain rigorous assessment and accountability for student progress
Support students' moral, social and academic development
Communicate effectively with parents/carers and external agencies
Contribute to the broader life of the school, including cross-phase collaboration
Ensure consistent professional standards in conduct, communication, and appearance
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote student welfare
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications & Experience:
Good Honours Degree in Classics or a related subject
A-Levels in relevant subjects
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or pending
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
Proven track record of effective teaching and student progress
Sound knowledge of current curriculum and adaptive learning strategies
Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety in schools
Skills & Personal Qualities:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Committed to ongoing professional development
Passion for Classics and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
