Student Services Assistant

Location: L12
Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Term Time

About the Role:

Tradewind recruitment are recruiting a well-organised, approachable and professional Student Services Assistant to join a school in L12. This front-facing role is central to the smooth running of our school day and student life. You will be the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and other stakeholders-acting as an ambassador for the school and upholding its values, mission, and ethos.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide outstanding administrative and operational support focused on student services. You will handle student queries, manage attendance data, support with school communications and admissions processes, and deliver excellent reception duties.

Key Responsibilities:

General Administration

  • Be the first point of contact for student queries providing friendly and effective support

  • Maintain and update both manual and digital records and information systems

  • Assist in maintaining the school calendar and managing the school inbox, ensuring timely responses and appropriate email forwarding

  • Organise and distribute incoming/outgoing post and manage completed parent forms

  • Provide general administrative support to school staff as required

Attendance & Admissions Support

  • Monitor and record student attendance accurately, generating reports when needed

  • Track late arrivals and follow up with parents/carers in line with safeguarding procedures

  • Update the school's Management Information System (MIS) as directed

Reception Duties

  • Welcome all visitors, parents and stakeholders with professionalism and warmth

  • Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries efficiently, maintaining the school's high standards of communication

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support student wellbeing and first aid duties as needed

  • Maintain security and safeguarding procedures at all times

  • Assist in written communications and general correspondence

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Confidence in using digital systems and software (experience with school MIS desirable)

  • A calm, professional and approachable manner

  • Commitment to upholding the school's values and ethos

  • First aid training (or willingness to undertake training)
