Are you a skilled and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with visual impairments? SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be recruiting for a unique and rewarding 1:1 Teaching Assistant role at a supportive and inclusive secondary school.
We're looking for a confident and capable TA to join a dedicated team supporting a blind student who will be transitioning into Year 7 this September. You'll work alongside one other experienced TA, forming a close-knit team around the pupil to ensure consistent and holistic support across the curriculum.
🎯 About the Role:
Full-time, long-term position for the full academic year
Provide tailored 1:1 support to a blind Year 7 student across subjects and activities
Work collaboratively with another SEND TA to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Liaise closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external specialists
Adapt and prepare materials to suit the pupil's needs and promote independence
Support the student's academic, social, and emotional development through the transition to secondary education
✅ What We're Looking For:
Prior experience supporting pupils with visual impairments is essential
Knowledge of or willingness to learn braille, tactile resources, or assistive technologies
A calm, patient, and proactive professional who can work independently and in partnership
Strong communication and organisational skills
A genuine commitment to inclusion and ensuring all pupils thrive
