Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with strong Braille skills? Do you have a passion for making learning accessible and meaningful for visually impaired students? SANZA Teaching Agency is working exclusively with a forward-thinking secondary school in Redbridge to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a blind Year 7 student from September 2025.

📅 Role: SEND Teaching Assistant (Braille Specialist)

👥 Support: 2:1 with a blind student in Year 7

📍 Location: Redbridge - excellent transport links across London

🗓️ Contract: Full-time, full academic year (September 2025 - July 2026)

The Ideal Candidate:

Has experience supporting students with visual impairments

Is confident and competent in reading and writing Braille

Has a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working 2:1

Understands how to adapt resources and learning environments for accessibility

Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, students, and families

What the Role Involves:

Providing 2:1 support to a blind student transitioning into Year 7

Adapting classroom materials into accessible formats including Braille

Supporting the student's social, emotional, and academic development

Working closely with teachers, the SENDCO, and external specialists
