Position Overview As an SEMH Teacher, you will lead engaging lessons while providing therapeutic educational support to students who have often experienced significant barriers to learning, helping them rebuild their relationship with education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering differentiated curriculum content suitable for students with SEMH needs
- Managing complex classroom dynamics and implementing effective behaviour intervention strategies
- Creating safe, nurturing learning environments that promote emotional wellbeing and academic progress
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams including therapists, social workers, and family liaison officers
- Developing individualized learning plans and tracking progress against challenging circumstances

Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Substantial experience teaching students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
- Strong classroom management skills with ability to remain composed under pressure
- Team Teach certification or similar physical intervention training highly advantageous
- Excellent understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic approaches to education
- Enhanced DBS certificate on Update Service or willingness to complete enhanced checks
- Right to work in the UK
