Pupil Recruitment Specialist (Internal) - Private School, Blackburn

Our prestigious private school in Blackburn is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Pupil Recruitment Specialist to join our team on a 1-year Fixed-Term Contract, starting August 2025.

This vital internal role will focus on driving pupil admissions by building strong relationships with prospective families, showcasing our school's outstanding academic and co-curricular offerings, and guiding them seamlessly through the admissions journey.

About the Role:

As our Pupil Recruitment Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring our school continues to thrive and grow. You will be the first point of contact for many families, playing a crucial role in creating an exceptional first impression and converting enquiries into successful enrolments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospective Pupil Engagement: Proactively engage with prospective parents and pupils, understanding their needs and effectively communicating the distinctive benefits of a private school education at our Blackburn institution.

  • Admissions Process Management: Guide families through every stage of the admissions process, from initial enquiry and school visits to application submission and enrolment.

  • Relationship Building: Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with prospective families, ensuring a personalised and supportive experience.

  • School Ambassador: Act as a key ambassador for the school, representing our values and ethos with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.

  • Event Coordination: Assist with the planning and execution of recruitment events, such as Open Mornings, Taster Days, and private tours.

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all admissions enquiries and applications using our school management system.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Admissions, Senior Leadership Team, and academic staff to ensure a cohesive and effective recruitment strategy.

  • Market Insight: Stay informed about local educational trends and competitor activity to inform recruitment efforts.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a recruitment, sales, or customer service role, ideally within an educational setting or a high-value service environment.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A natural ability to connect with people, build rapport, and demonstrate empathy.

  • Organisational Skills: Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

  • Proactive & Self-Motivated: A self-starter who can work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team.

  • IT Proficiency: Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM or school management systems is a distinct advantage.

  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for independent education and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Blackburn area and surrounding communities is a plus.
