SEN Teaching Assistant | SEN Schools & Units | North London
Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant seeking an exciting new opportunity in North London? Or are you a mainstream TA eager to specialize in supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
Tradewind Recruitment are actively seeking dedicated SEN support assistants to join SEN settings across Camden, Islington, Haringey and Enfield. These include specialist SEN schools, primary and secondary SEN units, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and SEMH schools. The positions focus on supporting students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. Most roles are full-time, long-term positions commencing September 2025 with potential for permanent placement.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the below:
- Providing targeted support for SEN students both individually and in small group settings
- Facilitating and enhancing student participation in educational activities
- Supporting effective communication using various methods including PECS, makaton and other assistive technologies
- Developing and implementing individualized support strategies for students with diverse needs
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals
- Tracking and documenting student development and milestones
To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need:
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with SEN across various needs and conditions
- Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where relevant) and satisfactory professional references
- Comprehensive CV detailing employment history for the previous 10 years where available
- Valid right to work in the UK
