Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets - September Start

A supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral team from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.

About the Role:

  • Position: Behaviour Mentor

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

  • Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

  • Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in managing their behaviour and making positive choices both in and outside the classroom.

  • Build trusted relationships with students who may be at risk of exclusion or disengagement.

  • Work closely with teaching staff, the pastoral team, and families to implement tailored support strategies.

  • Lead 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions focused on emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence-building.

  • Help create a calm, respectful, and inclusive school environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people with behavioural, social, or emotional needs (school-based experience preferred).

  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour management.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to remain professional, consistent, and fair in challenging situations.

  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
