Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Long-term supply (with potential for permanent placement)
Pay: Competitive daily rate - PAYE only
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in the borough of Hillingdon, seeking an energetic and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). This specialist setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD and speech, language and communication difficulties, who benefit from extra support within a mainstream school environment.
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant in the ARP, you will play a vital role in helping pupils to access learning, develop their confidence, and make meaningful progress - both academically and socially. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, and have a positive, engaging personality that helps to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within the ARP and occasionally in the mainstream classroom
Assist in delivering differentiated activities that meet individual learning and EHCP targets
Promote social inclusion, emotional regulation and independence
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and therapists to support personalised interventions
Maintain a safe, calm and supportive environment for all pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with SEND - particularly ASD, ADHD or speech and language needs
Be naturally proactive, adaptable, and able to use initiative in a fast-paced environment
Be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have a calm, caring and enthusiastic approach to working with children
Be reliable, patient, and committed to making a difference in children's lives
