SEN Teaching Assistant - Hounslow - Starting September 2025
We are currently recruiting a Special Educational Needs (SEN Teaching Assistant) to join a warm and inclusive secondary school in Hounslow, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time position lasting until July 2026, ideal for graduates seeking experience before training as an SEN teacher, Educational Psychologist or Speech & Language Therapist.
You'll work alongside the SENCo and wider team to support students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working one-to-one with students with EHCPs
- Supporting classroom participation and adapted learning tasks
- Creating a calm and positive learning environment
- Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Supporting inclusion and equality within the classroom
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a graduate (psychology or education degree preferred but not essential)
- Have a strong interest in SEN and inclusive education
- Show patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
- Be willing to learn and take direction from specialist staff
