Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Hillingdon, London
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: £90-£105 PAYE (Experience dependant)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently supporting a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon, which is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join their team from September. The school has a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) dedicated to supporting children with Autism (ASD) and they are looking for proactive, enthusiastic and resilient individuals to provide high-quality support on a supply basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Teaching Assistants with a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a desire to make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

About the role:

  • Supporting pupils within the SRP unit as well as within the mainstream classroom where appropriate
  • Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour support strategies
  • Collaborating with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver tailored support
  • Encouraging the development of communication, social and emotional skills
  • Creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism
  • A calm, patient and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and committed attitude with a willingness to adapt
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviours with sensitivity and confidence
