We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for a number of secondary schools in Daventry to start in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into the world of education, supporting students and staff, and gaining hands-on experience in the classroom.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes in the absence of the regular teacher. Using pre-prepared lesson plans and resources, you'll ensure students stay on task and engaged in their learning throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and managing student behaviour across a variety of subjects (KS3 and KS4)
Delivering pre-set lesson content and ensuring students complete the required work
Maintaining a calm, focused classroom environment and promoting positive behaviour
Reporting progress, concerns, or incidents to senior staff as appropriate
Assisting with general school routines such as breaktime or corridor supervision
Acting as a consistent, dependable presence within the school community
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, coaching, or similar)
Confident in managing behaviour and establishing a professional presence in the classroom
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to different school environments and routines
Able to follow instructions and deliver lessons confidently with the support of school staff
