Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with an ambitious secondary school in Newham seeking a passionate and skilled Humanities Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach a broad range of Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography, and Citizenship, in a supportive and vibrant school environment.

The Role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, covering Humanities subjects including History and Geography
  • Inspire students to develop critical thinking, enquiry skills, and a broad understanding of social sciences and the world
  • Use varied teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including those with diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and support
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities within the Humanities department

Person Specification / Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level in the UK
  • Be confident delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Possess an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Provide a CV covering your last 10 years of employment, where applicable
