SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity in education for a teaching assistant to become part of a thriving 4-form entry primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham. The school provides on-site parking and benefits from outstanding transport links via bus routes and underground stations (District and Piccadilly Lines).

We're seeking support for a Year 1 pupil diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) who communicates non-verbally.

The Role: As a dedicated learning support assistant, you'll be instrumental in delivering personalised one-to-one care for this student. You'll enable the child's engagement in classroom learning, encourage peer relationships, and champion their academic and personal growth.

Your Duties:

  • Deliver tailored support to the autistic pupil, prioritising their safety and wellbeing
  • Execute and monitor the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) alongside behaviour support strategies
  • Support communication and speech development using alternative communication tools
  • Work in partnership with classroom teachers and the SENCO to customise learning experiences
  • Create an welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages peer connections
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with families, sharing updates on the child's development

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven background working with children on the autism spectrum or comparable additional needs
  • Familiarity with non-verbal communication approaches and techniques
  • Expertise in behaviour support methods with flexibility to personalise approaches
  • Compassion, resilience, and authentic commitment to supporting children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication abilities and collaborative working style with staff and families
