Learning Support Assistant - Northampton
Location: Northampton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time - Long-Term or Permanent
Salary: £90 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience and Role)

We are working in partnership with a number of inclusive and well-regarded secondary schools in Northampton who are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their teams from September 2025. These full-time positions are ideal for individuals with a passion for education and supporting students with additional needs.

Role Overview:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH

  • Assist teachers in delivering lesson content and adapting materials to meet individual learning needs

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement within the classroom

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence

  • Work closely with SENCOs, teaching staff, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support

  • Help to track progress and contribute to the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (preferred but not essential)

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly

  • A team player who is flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the class and school

  • A genuine interest in education, child development, or SEN

  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, TA qualification, psychology degree) are advantageous but not essential
