We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our supportive school community in Hull. We specialise in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Learning Disabilities, and Complex Needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or a compassionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
As our EYFS Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality, inclusive education to our youngest pupils. Your key responsibilities will include:
Designing and delivering a bespoke curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, tailored to the unique needs of children with complex learning and communication needs.
Creating a safe, engaging, and sensory-rich classroom environment that encourages curiosity and supports positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Utilising specialist teaching methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Makaton, or other communication aids to help children express themselves and engage in learning.
Working collaboratively with a team of skilled teaching assistants and specialist staff, including therapists and support professionals.
Conducting ongoing assessments to track pupil progress and adapt your teaching strategies to meet individual learning goals.
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families, ensuring a smooth and positive transition from home to school.
About You
We are looking for an individual who is resilient, creative, and has a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs. You should:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Have a proven track record of teaching in an EYFS or SEN setting. Experience with ASC and/or Learning Disabilities is highly desirable.
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to teaching.
Possess strong behaviour management skills and be able to implement individual support plans effectively.
Be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
If you are ready to take on this fulfilling challenge and help our pupils unlock their full potential, we would love to hear from you.
