We are currently recruiting dedicated Cover Supervisors for several secondary schools in Northampton starting September 2025. This role is an excellent opportunity to step into the school environment, support students and staff, and build practical skills in education.

Role Summary:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for managing classrooms when regular teachers are absent. Using prepared lesson plans and resources, you will ensure students stay focused, engaged, and complete their assigned work throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and managing student behaviour across various subjects (KS3 and KS4)

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students complete tasks as expected

  • Maintaining a calm and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour

  • Reporting any concerns, progress, or incidents to senior staff promptly

  • Supporting wider school routines, such as breaktime supervision and corridor monitoring

  • Being a reliable and consistent presence within the school community

About You:

  • Experience working with young people in any setting (schools, youth clubs, coaching, mentoring, etc.)

  • Confident in managing behaviour and creating a professional, respectful atmosphere

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students

  • Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to changing school routines

  • Able to follow instructions carefully and deliver lessons with support from teaching staff
