Secondary School Case Worker - Blackpool 🏫

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated Secondary School Case Worker to join our team in a thriving Blackpool secondary school. This is a permanent position with a start date of September 2025.

As a key member of our pastoral team, you will manage a caseload of students, providing targeted intervention and support to remove barriers to learning and improve well-being. Key Responsibilities & Focus 🎯

  • Caseload Management: Manage a dedicated caseload of students with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Targeted Intervention: Develop and implement personalised support plans to address specific student needs, focusing on attendance, behaviour, and academic progress.

  • Liaison: Act as a central point of contact, collaborating with parents/carers, teachers, and external agencies (e.g., social services, mental health services) to ensure a holistic support network for students.

  • Safeguarding: Uphold and promote the school's safeguarding and child protection policies, reporting any concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.


Essential Skills & Qualifications

We're looking for an empathetic, organised, and proactive individual with:

  • Proven experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.

  • A strong understanding of case work principles and how to manage a diverse caseload.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students and families.

  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation and best practices.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., degree in social work, youth work, or a related field) are highly desirable.
