Join a Lovely Romford Primary School as an Early Years Practitioner - Full-Time for the Academic Year

Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school near Romford, set in beautiful rural surroundings with spacious grounds. The school is currently seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to support children in the EYFS on a full-time basis for the academic year. This role is also an excellent opportunity for nursery practitioners looking to move into a school setting, where hours are more structured and you benefit from term-time only working.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, making a real difference in the early development of young children. The school prides itself on its nurturing environment, play-based learning, and strong community ethos.

If you have experience working in Early Years/ nursery settings - particularly supporting children with communication and language development, early literacy and numeracy, or social and emotional needs - this could be the ideal role for you. Training in phonics, PECS or Makaton is desirable but not essential.

Job Summary

  • Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
  • Location: Romford - Accessible by car (on-site car park) and local bus routes
  • Pay: £90 per day minimum (PAYE)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Working Hours: Full-time, term time only

Requirements for an Early Years Practitioner

  • Experience supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ideally in a nursery or primary school setting
  • CACHE Level 3 qualification
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework and ability to deliver age-appropriate learning activities
  • Desirable: Training or experience with phonics, PECS or Makaton
  • Patience, creativity and a genuine passion for supporting children's early development
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow direction from class teachers and the EYFS lead

Compliance Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following:

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Full CV covering employment history with any gaps explained
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Proof of address and original documents for identity and safeguarding checks
