Job Description

A highly regarded primary school in the Sale area of Trafford is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Intervention Teacher to join their team after October half term. This full-time role will run until July 2026, offering an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference to pupils' progress and attainment.

The successful candidate will primarily work with children in Years 5 and 6, delivering targeted support in English and Maths to ensure pupils are fully prepared for their SATs and confident in their transition to secondary school. The role will involve working with small groups and occasionally on a one-to-one basis, focusing on closing gaps in learning, raising attainment, and supporting pupils' confidence and resilience.

Role Expectations:

  • Deliver high-quality intervention sessions in English and Maths to Year 5 and 6 pupils.
  • Assess learning needs, plan targeted activities, and track pupil progress effectively.
  • Work closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to identify pupils who would benefit most from additional support.
  • Provide both academic and pastoral support to help children achieve their potential.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the varying needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement in all sessions.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching or delivering interventions at Key Stage 2, ideally in Years 5 and 6.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to helping pupils reach their full potential, both academically and personal
