Graduate Teaching Assistant - Bedford - Temp to Perm - Take the first step in your career in education today!

Are you a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching? Are you looking to gain classroom experience before completing your PGCE next year?

Tradewind are currently looking for passionate graduates to work in our partner schools across Bedford. You will work closely with our specialist consultant to find a role which truly aligns with your requirements. No previous experience is required but it would be highly beneficial.

Your role will depend on the school you are placed at but typically you will be working with children with additional needs within a mainstream setting.

Your Role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils in mainstream or SEND classrooms

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Help children with additional needs including autism, ADHD, and speech or learning challenges

  • Foster a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment

  • Build valuable experience and develop practical classroom skills

What we are looking for in our Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • A degree in any subject and a passion for education

  • Some experience working with children or young people (formally or informally)

  • A calm, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to learning on the job

  • Confidence to engage pupils and support their development

  • SEND experience is a bonus, but not essential
