This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive staff community, working closely with children who have special educational needs. We are particularly keen to hear from teaching assistants with experience supporting children with:
- Autism (ASD), especially non-verbal communication
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Experience or training in PECS would be desirable, though not essential.
Role Overview
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Romford (accessible by car - free parking available - or by public transport)
- Start: ASAP
- Contract: Full academic year (term-time only, school hours 8:30 - 3:30)
- Pay: From £90+ per day (PAYE, weekly pay)
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking direction from teachers and the SENCO
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Compliance Requirements
To be considered, you'll need:
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (Update Service or new application)
- Full CV with explained employment gaps
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Two recent professional references
- Proof of address and valid identity documents
