Head Chef | Alternative Provision | Barnoldswick

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at a dedicated alternative provision in Barnoldswick. This is a permanent role with a fantastic work-life balance, operating on a daily schedule of 9am to 2pm.


The Role: Head Chef, Barnoldswick AP

As our Head Chef, you will be a key part of our school community, responsible for providing nutritious and delicious meals for our students and staff. You will lead the catering service, overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Menu Planning: Designing and creating varied, healthy, and appealing menus that meet all nutritional guidelines.

  • Food Preparation: Leading the kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of all meals.

  • Kitchen Management: Managing budgets, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen operates to the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.

  • Team Leadership: Supervising and mentoring a small kitchen team to ensure an efficient and positive working environment.

  • Dietary Needs: Catering for diverse dietary requirements and allergies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager, or in a similar senior catering role.

  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.

  • Experience with menu planning and budget management.

  • A passion for creating healthy and appealing food for young people.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • A flexible and positive attitude.
