We are working in partnership with several inclusive and supportive schools across South Manchester to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a highly rewarding role for someone with experience supporting children with complex physical and learning needs in an educational or care setting.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling pupils with complex needs to access education in a safe, nurturing environment. You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support to children, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • One-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex learning needs

  • Supporting children with physical disabilities in the classroom and around the school

  • Assisting with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene

  • Supporting children with tube feeding and stoma bag management (training can be provided if needed)

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals where required

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND

  • Comfortable with or willing to support personal care, tube feeding, and stoma management

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
