Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Science Technicians to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will support the smooth running of the science department by preparing and maintaining equipment, setting up practical experiments, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide resources that enable engaging and effective science lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for practical lessons.

• Maintaining and organising laboratory equipment and stock.

• Supporting teachers with demonstrations and experiments when required.

• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.

• Providing technical advice and support to staff and students.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory setting is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
