Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon), seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant who is passionate about inclusion and wants to help students with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.
Support students in accessing the curriculum across a variety of subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists to implement personalised education plans (IEPs).
Assist with behaviour support, emotional regulation, and building students' confidence and independence.
Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Monitor student progress and contribute to regular SEN reviews and team meetings.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting diverse learners.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good organisational skills and a flexible, proactive mindset.
A solid understanding of safeguarding and inclusion in education.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
