Tradewind is recruiting for a qualified and experienced teacher to work in Alternative Provision settings across [insert area]. These schools cater to pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education or require a more supportive, tailored environment to thrive.

About the Role:

You will be teaching small classes of pupils with SEMH needs, often on a personalised curriculum designed to re-engage them with learning. Working closely with support staff and behavioural leads, you'll deliver high-impact lessons while promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, adaptive lessons suited to individual needs

  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques (Team Teach)

  • Build trust-based relationships with pupils who have experienced trauma or disruption

  • Work closely with pastoral teams and external professionals

  • Track and monitor progress both academically and emotionally

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent

  • Team Teach trained (must be current or willing to refresh)

  • Previous experience in PRUs, Alternative Provisions, or SEMH settings

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills

  • A nurturing, calm and consistent approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
