Class Teacher (SEN) - Primary SEN School, Scunthorpe
Supporting Children with Autism, Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs (Ages 5-11)

Are you a passionate and creative teacher who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist primary school in Scunthorpe. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and support pupils aged 5-11 with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Class Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning styles and abilities.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that nurtures social, emotional, and academic growth.

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to ensure every child's needs are met.

  • Promote independence, resilience, and key life skills alongside academic progress.

  • Assess and monitor progress in line with each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.

  • Has experience teaching children with autism, learning disabilities, or complex needs (desirable).

  • Brings creativity, patience, and adaptability to every lesson.

  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

  • Has a positive, proactive approach to behaviour management and inclusion.

Additional SEN training (e.g. Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, or Autism Awareness) is desirable but not essential.
