Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant
Location: Harrow, North West London
Start Date: October 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (PAYE, DOE)
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Primary School in Harrow from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BSL practitioner to make a real difference to the education and development of pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs. The school is a welcoming and inclusive environment, with a strong commitment to ensuring all pupils can access learning and thrive both academically and socially.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs
Using BSL to support communication and understanding in lessons
Assisting the class teacher in delivering adapted learning strategies
Encouraging confidence, social skills and independence
Supporting the wider inclusion of pupils across the school community
What We're Looking For:
BSL qualification (minimum Level 2)
Previous experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments
Patience, empathy and strong communication skills
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
