Caretaker / Site Supervisor
Location: East Lancashire
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Tradewind are working with an SEN School within East Lancashire who are seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker / Site Supervisor to join the supportive team as soon as possible.
They are a well-established SEN secondary school, committed to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where our students and staff can flourish. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our learning environment.
About the Role
Caretaker / Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Site security - unlocking/locking the premises and ensuring the site is secure at all times
- General maintenance - carrying out minor repairs and DIY tasks to ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained
- Health & Safety - maintaining a safe environment, completing checks, and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Cleaning and hygiene support - supporting the cleaning team and ensuring facilities are kept to a high standard
- Contractor liaison - supervising external contractors and monitoring works carried out on site
- Grounds maintenance - overseeing the general upkeep of outdoor areas
- Emergency response - responding to any urgent maintenance issues or call-outs as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
- Practical with a good range of maintenance/DIY skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Committed to maintaining a safe and secure school environment
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build strong relationships with staff and students
- Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the school
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
