PE Technician - Northampton
Start Date: October 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term with Potential for Permanent Placement

Secondary schools in Northampton are currently seeking a PE Technician to join their PE departments from October 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. It's a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in education, coaching, or sports development.

Whether you're a recent sports graduate, an experienced coach, or someone with a strong interest in youth sport, this role offers the chance to work closely with staff and students in a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, setting up, and maintaining sports equipment and resources for PE lessons and extracurricular activities

  • Supporting teachers during practical PE sessions, including student supervision and assisting with group work

  • Helping to organise fixtures, competitions, and school sporting events

  • Maintaining an organised and safe PE environment, including equipment storage and kit management

  • Promoting physical activity and encouraging student participation in a variety of sports and fitness opportunities

  • Contributing to the overall success and smooth running of the PE department

What We're Looking For:

  • A background or strong interest in sport, physical education, or fitness

  • Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, or youth work settings (desirable)

  • Confident, organised, and proactive with strong teamwork and communication skills

  • A reliable and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Sports Science degree, coaching badges) are welcome but not essential
