We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for several welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton, starting October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to step into education, offering hands-on experience and development in a school setting.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You'll deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students stay on task.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising lessons across a range of subjects (KS3 and KS4)

  • Delivering set lesson plans and ensuring students complete the assigned work

  • Managing classroom behaviour calmly and effectively

  • Supporting students as needed, maintaining a positive learning environment

  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff

  • Taking part in school duties such as break supervision and corridor monitoring

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, coaching, tutoring or similar)

  • Confident in managing classroom behaviour in a professional and respectful manner

  • Able to follow lesson plans and provide clear guidance to students

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and within a school team

  • Adaptable to the dynamic nature of school life
