We are looking for a dedicated Baby Room Leader to join our Wigan nursery, part of a well-established, family-run nursery group known for putting children and families at the heart of everything we do.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to step into a leadership role while staying hands-on with the youngest children in our care.

About the Role:

As Baby Room Leader, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the baby room, ensuring a calm, caring, and engaging space where babies feel safe, secure, and supported. You'll lead a small team of practitioners and work closely with parents to build strong, trusting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a small team within the baby room

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, sensory-rich activities that promote early development

  • Ensure high standards of care, hygiene, and safety are maintained at all times

  • Observe, assess, and record each child's progress in line with the EYFS

  • Build warm, professional relationships with families and work in partnership with parents

  • Promote a nurturing, responsive, and inclusive environment for every child

About You:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years / Childcare - Essential

  • Previous experience working with babies (0-2 years) in a nursery setting

  • A gentle, caring nature with a passion for supporting early development

  • Experience leading or mentoring other team members - desirable

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding practices

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
