Science Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | Barnet | November start

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a high-achieving and supportive secondary school in Barnet that is seeking a dedicated Science Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term position (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm) with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates with a background in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics who want to develop their classroom experience and make a real difference in students' learning.

About the Role

As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially A-Level.

  • Work closely with Science teachers to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students who may need help understanding key concepts.

  • Help prepare practical resources and materials for experiments and lessons.

  • Encourage students' curiosity and confidence in Science.

  • Support practical lessons, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • A recent Science graduate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field).

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
