Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Location: Hounslow
Contract: Full Time, Long Term (Monday - Friday)
Hours: 8.30am - 4.00pm

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hounslow is recruiting a dedicated Secondary School Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. This role is to start from January 2026, or sooner for the right candidate.

The successful Secondary School Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support learning across a range of subjects, help students reach their potential, and contribute to a positive school environment. This is an ideal position for graduates or individuals considering a future career in teaching.

Key Duties:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who need additional help with their learning.

  • Support pupils with SEN or learning difficulties to ensure they can access lessons fully.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, motivation, and participation within the classroom.

  • Help prepare lesson materials, classroom resources, and displays.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to promote student wellbeing and academic success.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events where needed.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is advantageous.

  • Graduates with an interest in teaching or education are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and flexible approach.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people's learning and development.

  • A strong sense of commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
