Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Key Stage 2 at a welcoming Bolton primary school. This role will begin in January 2026 and run for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential for extension.

Key Duties:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with additional learning needs (ASD and communication difficulties).

  • Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Encourage social and emotional development, promoting confidence and independence.

  • Record and monitor progress, feeding back regularly to staff and parents.

  • Assist with classroom routines, ensuring the child is fully included in school life.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally in a primary setting.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (Level 2 or above).

  • A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply through Tradewind).
