Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for recent graduates eager to gain practical classroom experience and make a real difference in secondary education.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and support staff to help deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, and encourage students to reach their full potential-academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons across a range of subjects

  • Work with students 1:1 or in small groups, including those with additional learning needs

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment

  • Prepare learning materials and assist with lesson activities

  • Support the development of students' confidence, engagement, and achievement

What we're looking for:

  • A degree in any subject area (experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential)

  • A proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude toward education

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teachers and students

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
