SEN Teaching Assistant - Greenwich
Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term | Mainstream Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Greenwich. This full-time, long-term role is available for an immediate start and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. You'll play an important part in helping students build confidence, independence, and engagement in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional learning needs

  • Assist teachers in delivering and adapting lessons to meet individual needs

  • Support behaviour, focus, and emotional wellbeing in class

  • Promote inclusion and ensure all students have equal access to learning

  • Work collaboratively with staff to implement effective learning strategies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (essential)

  • Experience supporting students with SEND (desirable but not essential)

  • A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
