Primary HLTA / PPA Cover - Brentford, Hounslow
Full-time | January 2026 start | Long-term until July 2026 | £110-£130 per day (PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a friendly and forward-thinking 2-form entry primary school in Brentford, who are seeking an experienced HLTA or unqualified teacher to provide PPA and class cover across the school from January 2026 for the remainder of the academic year.

This is a Good Ofsted-rated mainstream primary school located in the heart of Brentford, close to the Piccadilly Line and several local bus routes, with on-site parking available for staff. About the Role:
As the school's PPA and class cover HLTA, you will:

  • Deliver lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teachers' PPA and absence.

  • Follow and adapt pre-prepared plans to ensure continuity of learning.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.

  • Support small groups and individual pupils when not covering classes.

  • Contribute to planning meetings and collaborate with teachers to ensure consistency.

This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA, overseas trained teacher, or unqualified teacher who enjoys variety, independence and building relationships across the whole school.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience covering classes in UK primary schools (essential).

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent classroom experience.

  • Strong understanding of the primary national curriculum.

  • Confident classroom management and adaptability across year groups.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
