SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Romford, Havering
Start Date: ASAP (Trial to take place immediately)
Contract: Full-time, term time only - for the full academic year (8:30 - 3:30)
Pay: From £90 per day (PAYE)

Accessible by car (school have car park) or by bus/ Elizabeth Line

Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a large and welcoming primary school near Romford. The school is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support one to one with an EYFS child with an EHCP.

About the Role:

  • Supporting a child in EYFS with an EHCP
  • The child has Autism (ASD) and ADHD, is non-verbal
  • The role requires someone firm but nurturing, able to set clear boundaries while maintaining warmth and understanding.
  • Close collaboration with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider EYFS team

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges (EYFS experience desirable)
  • Understanding of strategies to support non-verbal communication (experience with PECS or similar approaches desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
  • A proactive, compassionate approach and genuine passion for helping children thrive
  • Available for an immediate trial and able to work full time
