Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP (until July 2026)
Location: Havering (accessible by car with parking and by public transport)
Year Group: Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2)
Salary: £90-£100 per day PAYE
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only, full time
Tradewind are currently recruiting for an experienced and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex special educational needs in a welcoming primary school in Havering. The role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in LKS2 with ASD and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively in learning and school life.
The ideal candidate will:
Have strong experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and behavioural needs
Be patient, nurturing, and resilient, with a calm and empathetic approach
Be able to provide concise and clear instructions to promote understanding and engagement
Demonstrate effective strategies for managing behaviour in a positive and consistent way
Have previous experience in specialist provisions or SEN schools
Build trusting relationships with the child and wider school community
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
Compliance Essentials:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to work in the UK
Professional references covering the last 2 years
CV covering full employment history since leaving formal education
