Job Title: Temporary One-to-One Teaching Assistant Level 2 - SEND Support
Location: Huyton, Merseyside
Salary: £25,989 - £28,142 pro rata per annum (plus 5 training days [INSET])
Contract Type: Temporary, Fixed-Term linked to additional pupil funding
Working Pattern: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Hours: Post 1 - 27.5 hours per week (08:45 - 14:45, Monday-Friday) / Post 2 - 30 hours per week (08:45 - 15:15, Monday-Friday)
DBS Check: Enhanced
We are seeking two dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistants Level 2 to provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEND. These temporary positions are linked to additional pupil funding and are an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on children's learning and development.
About the Role:
The successful candidates will support individual pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to deliver high-quality, tailored support. Both positions are term-time only and include 5 additional training days (INSET).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Implement SEN strategies and interventions to support learning and behaviour.
- Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and collaborative.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and work cooperatively with colleagues and pupils.
- A positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to the school ethos.
- Proven commitment to pupil progress, good behaviour, and excellent attendance.
