Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-regarded and inclusive Secondary School in Cheshire East, which is seeking a passionate and committed Social Science Teacher to join its team as soon as possible. This exciting position offers the opportunity to teach a combination of subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, and Health & Social Care, depending on your specialism and experience.

The school is recognised for its strong pastoral ethos, high academic standards, and dedication to preparing students for life beyond the classroom. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that encourage debate, critical thinking, and an understanding of the wider social world. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to develop their expertise with the support of an established and collaborative department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering dynamic lessons across relevant Social Science subjects

  • Inspiring students to engage with contemporary issues, ethical debates, and theoretical perspectives

  • Assessing and tracking student progress in line with school and national expectations

  • Creating a positive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and supported

  • Contributing to curriculum planning and wider departmental development

  • Upholding high standards of behaviour, participation, and academic ambition

Candidate Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS in a Social Science subject (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care)

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the wider Social Sciences

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A reflective and adaptable approach to teaching

  • A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
