Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Canterbury
Pay Rate: £89 - £90 per day

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join one of our client SEMH schools in Canterbury.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal growth.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and understanding its impact.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other agencies to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Facilitate the delivery of highly personalised programmes to address individual needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • A compassionate and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in supporting young people.
  • Experience working with children with mental health difficulties. The environment can be challenging so you would need to have thick skin and great behaviour management
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to an hour to work.
  • Be able to work Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 3.30pm
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to provide personal care support, including toileting and feeding, as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive approach.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and obtain clearances.
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service.
